Tomorrow morning, at the crack o' dawn, we'll be driving two hours to Chaco Canyon, the "mothership" of Southwest archaeology. The thousand year old "great houses" at Chaco are at the hub of over 450 miles of roads that radiate out to other great houses and communities. Clearly, Chaco was the center of a culture that extended far beyond the immediate area. Since Chaco is so remote, we're prepared to spend the night (sleep in the Hummer) to take it all in. And, due to that remoteness, I won't be posting until we return to Corrales. Isn't it nice there are still places with no cell coverage?
