Wow, what a beautiful day here in Santa Fe! 70 degrees, bluebird skies, a nice breeze (which did turn into a stiff wind by afternoon). We started Mothers Day off with breakfast on our patio. While Marie cooked up blue corn with pinon pancakes, prickly pear syrup and sausage - she insisted on cooking - I walked into town to get the Sunday paper. When I returned, Marie had laid out a nice spread for us, and we enjoyed a liesurely breakfast under the trees.
After breakfast we walked into town and checked out a weekend art show. We ended up buying two artist proof prints from Joseph Comellas. We really love his work - it really captures the spirit of this area in a dramatic and colorful way. (Check out his website at www.josephcomellas.com). We went into the gift shop at the La Fonda Hotel and bought a signed paperback from a local mystery writer, then headed back to our casita. While Marie painted on the patio, I reviewed a DiSC assessment for one of my NASA coaching clients - after all, we are NOT on vacation, we're "living" here.
Before we knew it, it was time for our dinner reservation at the Pink Adobe restaurant. We had requested outdoor seating, and they were able to accommodate us in the courtyard. What a beautiful setting!
The food and service were great, the sangria (Marie) and margaritas (John) flowed, and a great time was had by all. Our server agreed to take a picture of us - I do appear to be several sheets to the wind. Or at least very mellow.
After dinner, we took a liesurely stroll through downtown and into the cool clear night. What a great day!
Where ever did you get that cute-as-a-button picnic tablecloth? Excellent!
